What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect: your name, email address, contact number, profession, company name (where applicable) and links to your website or LinkedIn profile (where applicable); payment details handled directly by our payment processor Stripe (we do not store your card details ourselves); basic analytics about how you use the site and any information you send us directly, such as in an email.
Why we collect it
We use this information to provide the news alerts, process subscription payments, send service emails such as sign-up confirmations and receipts and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases for collecting and processing data: performance of a contract; legitimate interests; compliance with legal obligations; consent, where required. Our legitimate interests include running and improving our services, managing subscriptions, maintaining website security and preventing fraud.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the news alerts: Ghost (our publishing and email platform), Stripe (our payment processor), Tally (which hosts our sign-up form) and Google Sheets (where we keep a copy of your sign-up details to manage subscriptions). We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Information may be disclosed where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of business assets.

How long we keep it
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonable and/or necessary for the objectives set out in this policy. Financial and accounting records may be kept for up to six years to meet HMRC and legal obligations.
